Well...It's Been a While...For Sure!!

2 years!!  Man!!  I have no excuse, except I let it go.  I never met my 25 pounds lost by 25th birthday.   Now is the time for a new goal.  I am now 27 and my 10 year High School Reunion is coming up in June.  When school got out in June, I realized I had let my weight get WAY out of control (273 pounds).  I started working the weekend of my 27th Birthday.  I am now down to 258.

So now I have a new goal.  I would like to loose 8-10 pounds a month.  I am setting "milestones" to help me get there.  First milestone is Christmas.

Starting Weight: 258
Milestone Goal: Christmas (240-235)

Also, I have a new blog documenting my journey as a teacher of two grades at the same time.  Check it out: A Tale of Two Grades

Week 20- Getting Stuck/Becoming Un-Stuck

So, It's been a while, but life got super crazy.  Since I last wrote, Spring Break came and went, and we have not had a full week of school since.  Things have gotten super crazy at school.  I lost those 20 pounds, but then became stuck.  Then I gained back 3 pounds, so I new it was time to get it under control.

I decided to try something new.  I am doing Alli.  Following the meal plan and taking the pills.  I like it.  For me, it's a new way of eating.  Cooking meals and eating fresh foods.  I feel much better and healthier.  So before I started Alli, I went from 234 to 237.  This week, I am back down to 234.  I have gone shopping and I am buying things in a size smaller than I was.  The dress I bought for a Friends wedding fits (It was my inspiration), and I think things are back on track.  So here's to the new plan!!!

7 more weeks and 7 pounds to loose!!!  I can do it and more!!!

Week 15

Ok, so I know I started out hoping to update this blog weekly, but once school got started back up, things got really hectic.  School was rough, but then I FINALLY figured out what I had not been doing for the last 2.5 years.  Now things are under control, and life is AWESOME.  So, update on the weight loss journey...234!!!  That means I have lost 20 pounds!!!

20 pounds!!!

20 pounds!!!

It seems quite overwhelming.  I can definitely notice a different.  My clothes are looser.  Things I thought I wouldn't be able to wear now fit.  I even got some new clothes from a coworker, who also lost weight, and they don't fit her either.  What a great way to save money!!!

Really cutting down on what I eat, no fast food, or soda has helped.  Also, working out on my Wii Fit is not only fun, but really works.  I love boxing!!!

If you look at my post title, I am only on week 15.  12 more weeks until I reach my deadline and I only have 7 more pounds to go.  I will definitely be blowing this goal out of the water and I cannot be more happier!!!  Cannot wait to continue to see the results!!!  Love it!!!

Week 4 & Week 5

So, with the Christmas Holiday, I didn't get a chance to blog about week 4.  I figured that since tomorrow officially starts 2010, I would write one more blog 2009.  Diets always seem to be hard to keep up with during the Holidays.  So much good food and a lot of just being lazy.  While I didn't loose 2 pounds, I did loose 1!!!  I am now at 249.  I really cannot recall a time where I was below 250.  Had to have been in High School.  I got a Wii and Wii Fit for Christmas, so I am super excited about working out with that.  It will make working out a whole lot more fun!!!!  Here's to 2010!!!

End of Week 3

So, today was the last day of school for two weeks!!!  Yeah!!!  It was a busy, but very good week!!!  I am proud of my kiddos.  I am glad that I am there!!!

My friend is coming into town tomorrow, so I thought I would weigh in a day early.  So.....250!!!!!!!!!!  I lost 3 pounds this week!!!  I wasn't aiming for 3 pounds, but that is just what happened. I still haven't gotten to exercise (unless you call walking around school and staying at school until 9pm exercise), but I know that with the break, I will be exercising.

I ate dinner at home, drank lots of water, and moved around a lot at school.  I owe to pure will.  There were definitely times where I want to get fast food, but I knew I had food at home.  I am super excited that things are working out!!!  Thanks for the help!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

End of Week 2

I started off the week cooking food to eat for dinner so that when I get home from school, all I have to do is pop it in the microwave and re-heat it.  I also made sure I was up early enough to eat a bowl of cereal, eat a banana, and drink a glass of milk.  I found that doing this allowed me to be more alert every day, and I was in my classroom by 7am at the latest.  I was more awake when my class got to me and I didn't feel rushed in the morning.

The dinner idea fell through big time.  I had an extremely rough week and I really realized that I am an emotional eater.  By the time I would get out of school, I would want comfort food, not food that was in my refrigerator, so I stopped and got fast food three times this week and then ate pasta the rest of the week. Totally not on my diet.  I also did not exercise this week.

So for my weigh in, I am still at 253, like last week.  I did accomplish eating breakfast everyday and eating a healthy lunch at school.  I just need to continue that goal through the evening.

With Christmas break less than a week away, I am hoping for it to improve.  So my goal for Week 3 is to eat dinner at home.  Dinner that I make.  Thanks for all the encouragement.  It is helping, I promise!!!  Here's to 13 Days until Christmas!!!

End of Week 1

So, It's exactly a week since I wrote my beginning blog, and even though I officially started my challenge on Tuesday (I think I actually started on Saturday last week), I couldn't wait until then to see how I am doing.  I just got off the scale and.....253!!!!!  I have lost my first pound!!!!!   YEAH!!!!!

Week one has been challenging.  Finding time to exercise has been tough, so I haven't done it 5 times this week, just twice.  For week two, I would like to make it up to 3-4 times with my final goal of 5 times by week three.  Also, the temptation by fast food restaurants and soda have been fierce, but I have survived.  I did break during my 4th Grade Class's Pizza Party Friday, but I only had two slices of pizza and I stayed away from the chips and cookies.  I also went to a neighbors apartment tonight and I didn't partake in the late night snacks or wine.  I told them what I was doing and Robert, a personal trainer, said he would help too!!!

Grocery shopping had been fun.  I am exploring foods I haven't before which I am sure would make my old roomies happy!!  I cleared out my entire refrigerator and restocked it for healthy foods.  I am going to try to cook on Sundays so all I have to do during the week is heat things up.  I find myself not feeling like cooking when I get home, so I think that this will be helpful!!

Thank you to everyone who is encouraging me!!!  I love it and I really think it is helping me achieve what I want out of it!!!  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

FYI- I threw out my slim-fast because of the recall, and will be getting up earlier to eat a bowl of cereal and a banana.
